Adapting the Promotion Deployment Strategy

New technology has revolutionised consumer shopping habits. Today, with smartphones and tablet computers flying off the shelves, more and more shoppers are connected "24/7".

To keep up with their customers, retailers need to get ready to interact with them at any time and fine-tune the promotion deployment strategy in order to reach them whenever, wherever and however they shop.

This not only is true for shoppers browsing a Web site, it applies to any sales channel whether a point of sale or a mobile application.

Delivering Promotions in Real Time to the Customer's Favourite Touch Point

Maxxing's Tailored Promotions and Mass Communication modules deploy promotions respectively in real time or batch mode (offline or deferred) to the shopper's preferred touch points.

A customer who specifies a preferred touch point in his preferences or with a strong interest in one of them will receive promotions to that touch point.

The same predefined promotion can be delivered to all customers… through multiple touch points: coupon, e-coupon, SMS, e-mail, or mailing.

Maxxing supports a wide variety of paperless or e-promotions:

E-coupon: loyalty vouchers, discount coupons, specific information, etc. can be e-mailed, texted or sent to a mobile application.
Customer counter: loyalty account updates in points or cash, visit counters, cart value, etc.
Saved promotions: the promotions the customer is eligible for are saved and displayed on screen.
Dynamic advertising: based on what pages the shopper is browsing on the e-commerce Web site, personalised buying incentives or messages can be displayed in the form of pop-ups or dynamic ads.
Card-specific promotions: promotions assigned to a specific customer loyalty card.

A unique code is assigned to each action or paperless promotion. The code is either a promotion code, bar code or QR code and can be redeemed on a Web site or at a point of sale e.g. till, kiosk, or self-checkout.

On a mobile application, the customer selects a coupon code from his personal promotions list and the code will be redeemed automatically with no need to scan anything the next time he shops at the store or on the Web site. As a result: no more coupons forgotten at home and a higher satisfaction rate!
